Book of Acts--Day 4
from Max Lucado, Cast of Characacters.
Joseph:
Do you know the story of Joseph, the favorite of the sons, whose brothers left him for dead, and later depended on him for life? Did Joseph react with Anger? No, he did not.
Anger irritates, anger is not easily silenced, anger has a way of increasing in volume until it is the only sound we hear.
When Joseph's brothers came to him years later for help in time of famine, Joseph does not react with anger. He refuses to focus on the betrayal of his brothers without also seeing the loyalty of God. Joseph tells them, "God turned your evil into good to save the lives of many people, which is being done."
Pray when you feel angry, that you do not react in such a way to hurt others. Anger is a normal, human feeling, but needs to be dealt with properly. If you struggle in this area, let God take over.
